In order to reach the goal of self sufficiency by 2015, KEF established a micro-finance program which is intended to support the financial improvements of the 11 villages served by the Kasimu School.
The micro-finance program started in 2008 has provided funding for small businesses and seed/fertilizer for farmers. In 2013 this program funded loans for 26 small businesses and 240 farmers.
As of 2013, the micro-finance program has become self supporting with no additional funds required from KEF.
THE KASIMU EDUCATION FUND (KEF) is an all volunteer 501c3 non-profit organization founded to promote educational opportunities for the children of Kasimu Elementry School in Malawi, Africa.
